The following are applications that have been developed using FIWARE technology in Mexico. The applications focus on six key areas: mobility and quality of life; health; smart surveillance; the Internet of Things; software engineering; and data visualization. Additional information can be found in Spanish at this dedicated space for FIWARE training, which has been developed by FIWARE Mexico partner INFOTEC.
The Green Route application, which is part of the SmartSDK project, focuses on user mobility in cities with high levels of contamination. It aims to help users choose the best route to get to a destination and takes into account the user´s profile, analyzing aspects such as health status, and preferred methods of transportation. Green Route then suggests an ideal route for the user, taking measures to avoid those with high levels of contamination.
The Center for Scientific Investigation and Higher Education of Ensenada, also known as CICESE, developed an application centered on health using FIWARE technologies. The application uses mobile telephones and personal electronic devices to obtain user behavioural data and infer information, such as clinical parameters, to create databases that can be used in investigations on epidemics.
In the security field, the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electrics, known as INAOE, built a smart security application. The application is based on a video surveillance system that detects risk events automatically.
Developed by INFOTEC and Conacyt, Wilma is a prototype app based on the Internet of Things that consists in a Brazilian flowering plant connected to the FIWARE cloud. With the help of different sensors, the plant has the ability to communicate its status.
SEKC, a proyect developed by INFOTEC and Conacyt, is a software engineering application that uses FIWARE in order to adopt best practices to develop high quality software.
The data visualization application was created as part of the Smart SDK project using FIWARE technologies. It allows the user to visualize, carry out analyses and monitor the data obtained.
An initiative to accelerate the market uptake of FIWARE technologies in Mexico, pioneered by the increasing engagement of stakeholders through specialized training of the most up to date FIWARE technologies, Working Groups and Open FIWARE Camps MX-EU.
