FIWARE Mexico partnered with SmartSDK, another FIWARE-focused project, to develop a joint newsletter and disseminate FIWARE activities in Mexico. The first joint newsletter was published in November 2016 and the last one was sent in January 2019. All of the newsletters can be referenced below and on the SmartSDK website.
The final joint newsletter describes how both projects participated in the Smart City Expo LATAM 2018 Congress in Puebla, Mexico. It also presents SmartSDK´s 5G award, which it received for developing GreenRoute, a smart mobility software application created in Mexico with FIWARE technologies.
Newsletter #7 announces the “FIWARE Smart Services for Mexico Workshop,” an event hosted by SmartSDK with participation from FIWARE Mexico project members. It also presents the results of the Open FIWARE Camp in Europe, co-located the FIWARE Global Summit in Porto.
The February 2018 newsletter presents the progress made on the FIWARE smart security application and FIWARE health application. In addition, it also announces that the FIWARE Mexico Lab Node has become a part of the network of FIWARE iHubs.
Newsletter #5 announces the FIWARE Tech Summit in Malaga in November 2017 and reports the results of various FIWARE workshops in Mexico. It also announces the creation of a dedicated “Training” page to host resources on the FIWARE Mexico project website.
In the June 2017 edition of the newsletter, SmartSDK published a series of reusable and modular UML Component Diagrams as part of its effort to standardize reusable FIWARE architecture patterns. FIWARE Mexico announces the winners of its first hackathon a CUDI.
Newsletter #3 provides background on the Mexican FIWARE Lab Node. The node received the ISO 9001 certification in 2014. The newsletter explains that with this certification, FIWARE users are guaranteed high quality services because all relevant documentation, structures, responsibilities and procedures have been standardized to achieve effective quality management.
In this newsletter, we promote the FIWARE Mexico “Train the Trainers” workshops, which will focus on Cloud Computing, the Internet of Things and Big Data, among other topics. SmartSDK publishes the first outcomes of the project using Cloud Computing patterns, such as scalability and high availability.
The first FIWARE Mexico-Smart SDK joint newsletter updates readers on the definition of user scenarios for SmartSDK trials and explains key transportation issues that can potentially be solved with FIWARE technologies. In addition, it presents the results of the first FIWARE Mexico project meeting in Mexico City.
An initiative to accelerate the market uptake of FIWARE technologies in Mexico, pioneered by the increasing engagement of stakeholders through specialized training of the most up to date FIWARE technologies, Working Groups and Open FIWARE Camps MX-EU.
